Welcome to my photography site. Photography is an extension of my creative side, providing quicker fulfillment than drawing and painting, something which I've no time for, ever since joining the rat race. It complements the physical aspect of my other passion, running. I tend to think of running as an exercise of the logical side of the brain, and photography the creative side.

USAF Thunderbirds 2009 : The USAF Thunderbirds paid Malaysia a visit on Oct 3rd and the RM AFB at Subang was the venue for their performance. The Thunderbirds are like the Harlem Globetrotters of aviation. These guys don't just fly, they pirouette and engage in death defying precision routines that guarantees to thrill. Here are some of the shot captured during the muggy morning. Predominantly gray, it made shooting quite challenging.

Guan Yin Temple : I was dissatisfied with the results of my first visit as a shooter to the temple. After a couple of months familiarizing myself with the art, I recently paid another visit to this place determined to yield better shots. This temple is simply breath-taking and justifies a second visit. Luckily it's just a short walk from the office. After a quick lunch, I spent 30 minutes trying to "see" new things, I came away with fewer but better quality shots. Minor touch-ups were performed using Adobe's Lightroom 2.

Manchester United Asia Tour 2009 - Friendly Match : The Red Devils were in town and they played against a Malaysian select team. The Malaysian side played spiritedly and managed to squeeze 2 goals to draw level after Rooney and Nani opened the accounts. Owen's goal in the final quarter made the difference as the 100,000 capacity crowd were treated to 5 goals. I took these photos about 15 seats up, facing the subs bench with the help of a 2x tele-extender. My 135mm f/2L prime became 432mm on my crop body making the results slightly more acceptable.

Tasik Prima Puchong : Located barely 7 minutes away from my home (by car), it's a great place to catch the sunset. Lately the cloud formations have been fantastic but they change so quickly. This is one spot I'll be returning to hope to make some great shots. For now, these will be experimentals. Comments are most welcome.

Though not as populated as the Penang one, this KL farm still has plenty to offer for those who seek to get closer to these insects. Kuala Lumpur Orchid Farm 1 : I finally had the opportunity to pop by the Orchid Farm after the recent RunnersMalaysia 3rd Anniversary Breakfast Run and spent an hour there. I found it challenging to shoot under the blazing 10am sun but we photographers have to learn to adapt right? I'll most certainly return once I get the EF 100mm f/2.8 Macro USM. There are just too much to shoot.

For those who love flowers, the Orchid Farm is a recommended visit. The entry fee of RM1 per adult on weekends is ridiculously cheap. The place opens at 9am and is well maintained.

KL Street Shoot 1 : This street shoot was organized as part of Tamron's Photography Workshop at The Gallery Central Market. In what was a very hot day, participants were given 90 minutes to capture anything of interest. As this was my first street shooting, I'm sure there will be more such photojournalistic outings in the near future.
